My Biography

My journey in the hospitality industry began in 1996 with the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where I held various managerial positions across Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. These early experiences provided a solid foundation in hotel operations and revenue management. (hospitalitynet.org)

In 2007, I joined Dusit Thani Dubai as Director of Revenue Management, managing a turnover exceeding AED 120 million annually and assisting in the rollout of company-wide commercial business plans. This role honed my skills in strategic planning and revenue optimization.

By 2009, I advanced to Vice President of Sales & Revenue Management at Hospitality Management Holdings, overseeing the revenue and sales departments of over 40 hotels across the Middle East and Africa. I successfully increased corporate sales by 60% and introduced a 360-degree e-commerce department, generating $1.2 million in online business within the first year.

In 2011, I took on the role of General Manager at Coral Boutique Hotel Apartment in Dubai, where I led a six-month refurbishment project that doubled annual revenue to AED 1.5 million. I also launched two new food and beverage outlets, enhancing the property’s market position.

From 2013 to 2018, as General Manager of Donatello Hotel Dubai, I transformed a stagnant 78-unit hotel apartment into a licensed four-star hotel with 132 rooms, increasing business revenue by 40%. This transformation involved restructuring room sizes and adding rentable spaces and food and beverage outlets.

In 2018, I became Cluster General Manager for RDK Group of Companies in Dubai, where I secured a tour series contract that generated over $5 million in incremental revenue across three properties. I also implemented cost-cutting initiatives that reduced group expenses by 48% and restructured the hotel organization to reduce overhead by 35%.

In 2020, I served as Pre-Opening General Manager for Marriott International in Accra, Ghana, where I prepared the critical path plan for the hotel opening, conceptualized hotel operations, and set up the hotel’s infrastructure, IT, and management information systems. This role showcased my expertise in pre-opening strategies and operational setup.

In 2022, as Director of Operations for the Pre-Opening Hospitality Division at Al Emadi Enterprises in Doha, Qatar, I established operational standards for special hospitality projects, secured cost-effective subcontracting services, and developed a sustainable employment strategy that reduced overhead costs.

Currently, as General Manager of Grand Hotel Bucharest, I am leading a comprehensive rebranding and restructuring initiative. This includes a phased soft refurbishment project, the introduction of two new food and beverage outlets, and the implementation of a new hotel management information system. These efforts have resulted in a 32% reduction in cost ratio compared to 2019 and a significant decrease in employee turnover.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a commitment to excellence, innovation, and strategic leadership, driving significant improvements in operational efficiency, revenue growth, and guest satisfaction across diverse markets.
